As Sustainability Manager in the area of materials and products, you will play a crucial role in advancing our sustainability initiatives through effective problem-solving and data-driven decision-making. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about products and eager to enhance the sustainability of our Westwing Collection. This position is unlimited and located in Munich.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• manage sustainability certification schemes (e.g., FSC, GOTS, GRS, BCI), including internal and external stakeholder coordination, documentation upkeep, and compliance with evolving requirements
• continuously optimise processes to maintain compliance with sustainability certifications, focusing on increased efficiency through PLM or AI tools
• monitor and manage sustainability KPIs related to products and materials
• lead the first raw material consumption analysis using the new PLM system, deriving strategic insights to guide future material sourcing strategies
• collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Buying Team, Quality Team, and suppliers) to support sustainable raw material and product sourcing initiatives
• ensure compliance with stringent product claim and labelling guidelines and conduct regular training sessions to reinforce standards among internal teams
• partner with Technology and Production Teams to implement product data sheets on the company website
• develop an actionable roadmap for implementing the Digital Product Pass in alignment with forthcoming European Union regulations

YOU COME WITH

• degree in sustainability, business administration, economics, environmental science or a related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in sustainability (preferably with expertise in sustainable material management), project management or a similar field
• strong affinity for data and numbers, with profound analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from complex datasets
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to senior management and drive cross-functional alignment
• knowledge of sustainability certification standards (e.g., FSC, GOTS, GRS, BCI) and regulatory compliance requirements
• understanding of supply chain processes, including sustainable material sourcing and supplier collaboration
• familiarity with European Union regulations related to sustainability, product labelling, and emerging requirements (e.g., Digital Product Pass) is a plus
• problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a focus on swift execution
• self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• fluency in English
